Reflection Blog #2: Research in Educational Technology

The author Rifat Efe is part of the Department of Biology Education at Dicle University in Turkey.  The article evaluates a study and survey that examined 458 science student teachers of different subjects and grade levels and their integration of educational technology, how it would be used, and their viewpoint towards it. The results showed that an experience student teacher will more likely use technology in the classroom. The teacher needs to feel confident and efficient in using educational technology before allowing the students to do so. It also concluded that the grade level/age of a science student teacher's classroom can also determine the amount of educational technology the teacher uses. The study had several tables and graphs to compare and contrast the different grade levels, ages, genders, and subject areas. This study proves that technology is well used in the classroom starting at student teachers.
